La banda de Memphis Reigning Sound debutaron hace casi veinte años y ya aportaban maneras al mezclar el garaje sucio con el pop-soul  sin importarles miramientos. Con su segundo álbum Time Bomb High School homenajeaban a ese soul pegadizo e inteligente que tanto se escuchaba por la escena británica de los 60. Su líder Cartwigh cantaba desgarradamente al desamor con la joya de la que tratamos hoy Stormy Wheather. Pocos como Reigning Sound para cantarnos extrañas baladas y ritmos negros donde el amor, y desamor, están a la orden del día.
